    Designed by T.J. Cobden-Sanderson and bound by The Doves Bindery, these volumes of Arnold’s poetry exemplify classic Doves Bindery style, featuring crimson crushed morocco and intriguing gilt-stamped designs on spine and elsewhere. Each book is signed “The Doves Bindery, 18 C-S 97" in the dentelles. Bindings & Illuminated Mosher Books. Included are bindings by Florence Foote who studied under Cobden-Sanderson of the Doves Bindery, Elizabeth Utley (later Thomas) an original member of the American Guild of Book-Workers and whose binding work is very much in the style of a Doves Bindery.

Miss Baker had studied binding with T. J. Cobden-Sanderson at the Doves Bindery. Written on the back of the shelf list cards for the Doves Press collection was " Argosy Acq." This was most likely a reference to the Argosy Book Store in New York. Hoping that there was a catalogue that described the collection, the book store was contacted.

In full prussian blue morocco with a single gilt fillet frame and corner design of carnations, three-pointed leaves, solid triangular tools, and gougework enclosing a field of tiny gilt stars, its design is handsomely.
